it has four days since I have written anything. I will try and bring this blog up to date with my little daytimer. We have had a semi-busy week, visited a lot and kept busy, but we are wondering what the Lord has in mind for us.

Thursday morning, we drove out not knowing who we were suppose to visit but planning on following the spirit. We ended up driving over to the Burns family to drop off a loaf of our bread. Sister Burns happened to be home and we visited her for about an hour. Or should I say mostly we visited cause she is a "talker." We talked about their family, hobbies and the things going on. We have been hoping to meet with them as a family, but she said her husband is not ready. Personally he has a problem with the doctrine of us working toward becoming Gods. Also a few other things but we could see he was not anywhere near ready to receive the Gospel. That is sad because they have three kids between 12 and 16 that are missing out.

The Dillions live out in the sticks a ways, but we drove out there in the afternoon. They were taking a nap and we just horned in. It was good because they needed a visit from us. We are actually on the second time around visit, now, to most people. We listened to them to as they are quite the talkers and after about an hour we left. They have been coming to church the last few Sundays, Hooray!! These less actives need so much care and attention.

On Friday and Saturday I stayed home and re-did the Baptism Book for two little girls who need to be taught. They both live in the ward, one is a grandaughter of one of the Primary Presidency, and the other is none years old and just never been baptized. It took a while to make new pages and then make copies of everything. It turned out nice, though.

Elder Whiting went to help Brother Ivers with some plumbing that he had to do on his house on Saturday for a few hours. He was tired when he came home. Elder Whiting is wondering about a word of wisdom problem with Bro. Ivers because his married children were passing around Beer to everyone after he left. There is usually a reason why people quit coming to church other than being offended. Anyway he was able to be a lot of help to him.

And now today is Sunday afternoon and we have just been relaxing after all of our meetings and PEC and Missionary Committee meeting. But an interesting Sunday it has been. In PEC we talked about having a talent showe in partnership with our Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone seems to be in favor of it. They say there is not much talent, but when they got talking about it, it looked to me like there was plenty. I think it is a great idea.

We sat by the Cornells and the Dillions and many people were not there today. I was cold in Sacrament meeting and I asked Bob Cornell if he was cold and he said, "No he was not because he told himself he was warm." I mean it was really cold.

Relief Society was very interesting. The Sister that gave the lesson just kept getting off tract. The lesson was on Revelation and Prophets. Somehow they got talking about the Book and Movie that was Anti Mormon that had chased so many people away. We all knew what it was, but we didn't mention it, so one sister raised her hand and asked!! Of course there was no reason to mention it, so we didn't.

They were just talking all over the place about different things and getting things all mixed up. One of the sisters said we couldn't talk about Baptism for the Dead because we couldn't talk about what went on in the Temples!!! We cleared that one up and then this same sister started talking about getting pulled over by the police on the way from the Temple and getting her endowment. The officer asked her where she was going and where she came from. She proceeded to give him the first missionary lesson! At that point the officer acted like she was crazy and she couldn't understand why he was treating her that way. (She was serious.)

The lesson finally ended up, after talking about all the people who had left the Branch with this book and movie, about 15 minutes over time. But the teacher ended and said," The Book of Mormon is not important, but our Prophet and revelation is!" I just blurted out --"they go hand in hand!" And then she corrected herself. We were on the verge of false doctrine this whole lesson. I just shook my head. But at least we were not sleeping!

At our Missionary Committee meeting we decided to start holding FHE with all of the empty nesters in the branch. We are going to start next week and have it be a pot luck and a speaker. Sister Wooley and her husband work in the mission office and she has given firesides before so we are hoping to invite her down to be our speaker. We just called the Branch President in and he approved it right then.

And so here we are and Elder Whiting is taking a snooze after a wonderful hashbrown and eggs lunch. And Oh Yes, Alysha Stamper, the member who lives next door, came over and ask for a ride to work at Walmart and so I took her.
