Another wonderful Sunday . . .

The Lord is go good to us! We are so blessed and feel it every day. Even though I have not been feeling real great with this cold, things are still moving positively forward! I am learning to trust in Heavenly Father's plan for us, and understand that it is not of this world! I truly stand all amazed at the love that he offers me!!

This mission has been a wonderful experience for both me, Elder Whiting, and our marriage! It has been the best therapy anyone could ever have, both individual and collective. This is my diagnosis: When an individual is put into a situation where he learns to depend upon the Lord, and gains the faith and experience to depend upon the Lord and his plan, that process causes a refining in that individual. I know and feel, without doubt, of Our Heavenly Father's plan for us and that we can trust him in every whit. It is upon man that we cannot rely. His plan is a far greater one and a bigger picture than we have for ourselves.

Having said that I will expound on our weekend. On Saturday we made bread with Sef and his wife. We really got to know them better and saw a more complete picture of them. It was a good experience and helped us to realize how far they have to go. They have a lot of potential, but have had some rough experiences and reflect those experiences in their actions. We will continue to love and serve them and see where it goes. We pigged out on fresh bread, butter and honey, jam, and ham. It was good bread! They took three loaves home with them too. The best part of it was that they were able to feel a part of the Gospel from us.

Yesterday, being Sunday we went to our church meetings. WE love to go the Sherman First Ward. They are so proactive in their missionary work. We were sitting on the back row with the Franklins sitting in front of us, and in walks Johnny, JuHo, and another young man with them. We look at each other quite surpised. Who is this young man? After the meeting, we found out, he was another young man that Johnny had invited, that wants to hear the lessons with them!! His name was Donny. He had that same clean look, that the rest reflected. We will be teaching the three of them on Thursday night at the Moaks house.

We keep asking ouselves, why are we so lucky, (blessed)? Heavenly Father just keeps opening doors for us. I think it is because our family must be praying for us, and living their lives so that we receive the blessings. It is such a joyous experience.

Although we could not teach them last night, we will teach them all on Thursday night again, and Monica on Tuesday night. Actually it was a blessing because I was not feeling that well and Elder Whiting took me home halfway through the 2nd ward Sacrament Meeting.

Elder Whiting told me later that he took scriptures over to a fellow in the Behavioral Hospital and talked to him during the Sunday School for the 2nd ward. He was a fellow who had received the missionary lessons, but had not yet been baptized. He talked to him about the church for a while.

We had one appointment with George and Angel yesterday. We had been concerned about them because they did not seem to be moving forward. We gave them a lesson on Our bodies being temples, by Pres Packer. They asked about their tatoos and we tried to clarify everything. George had not heard about quitting the coffee because we had not given him to Word of Wisdom, which we will give him next week.

We had them list all of the adjustments they needed to make and then they set dates for doing it. We will now make up a calendar with everything on it, so they can watch their progress. They were excited about that. At our District Meeting each week, we talk about a challenge we are having and they give us ideas of how we can work with our situation. That idea with George and Angel was the result of our Distict Meeting. We felt very grateful to our Heavenly Father for that.

Today is Preparation day. Elder Whiting had gone to do the wash and I am hanging out, still not feeling too well. We have an appointment tonight, but will not be able to go because of this cold. The women has some real issues with breathing and we would not want to take this cold to her.
