Last night was a memorable night!! We had Sherman 2nd ward missionary potluck! We have really been trying hard to get some activities we could bring people to, new members, less actives and investigators or friends. I asked the Bishop if, since the activities committee is not sponsoring any ward activities, if we could sponsor our own@ He said, "Yes." So we set the date, cleared the bujilding and started inviting people. The Bishop did much to help. He told all the leadership they needed to be there too. So we had every organization represented and our investigators, friends and new members were surrounded by the leadership. It was wonderful!

I made rolls and Stauffer's lasagna. The rolls were liked, the Lasagna not. After we ate, Sandy and John Robbins did a program on Temples. John did the introduction and talked about Temples. They had a slide show going all of the time on various Temples. We also had a short talk by one of the prophets on Temples. The best part was when they had about five people stand and bear their testimonies of Temples. The spirit was so strong!! There were many tears shed and many hearts melted. The Stacks were there, (we are baptizing two of their children on April 26; Dalisa, Tammi, Mark who we took to church with us last Sunday. Mark had a million questions and finally I just told him we could come and explain to him about the questions he had.

Early in the evening we were just sitting there talking. He said to me, "All churches are the same. They all believe in God and they all do good."

I turned to him and said, "We don't believe that, Mark. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he organized his church in a certain way with apostles and prophets. Our church has been organized in that same way. Just as Jesus Christ was the Prophet when he was on the earth and received revelation from God, so we need to have a prophet today to tell us what God wants us to know. We have a prophet who has the authority from God to direct our church. We believe we have the truth.

After that he was quiet. Then later after the presentation he had many questions and we made an appointment to visit with him today.
