Interviews with Pres. Smith

We just love our Mission President! He is the best and so very loving. He made a big deal of the fact that we had baptized so many this month. He told us we could stay on our mission as long as we wanted!

But seriously when he talked to us, he was very kind and expressed his sincere appreciation. He spoke with us about the Sherman area and how they are doing. He shared with us that he had discussed us with the Stake President here and that they were appreciative with what we are doing.

President Smith asked us if we had decided what we were going to do. Elder Whiting told him that we were going to stay the extra time. He was so excited, it almost jumped and down and clapped! It was fun to witness his excitement. Then we discussed the possibilities of what to do with us and how to best use us.

It sounds like it will be a good possibility that they will move us out of Sherman and move Elders in here to take our place. They want to use us to fellowship in Wards where it is needed, besides teaching and converting. They decided the Elders can get in here and continue the work that is going on. That would be a set of Elders and Sisters to work with the English speaking, and a set of Elders to work with the Spanish speaking. Transfers are in two weeks so it could happen this month or next. We hope this month since, we would like to be able to work in two more areas if possible. We will see what the Lord has in store. In a way it is a little scary to stary all over again in a new area, getting to know new people. But we have enjoyed it so far, and I know the Lord will bless us.

In other news, we found out that Sis Cooper has breast cancer, today. Her husband is a medical Doctor and they are the greatest family. The Sister missionaries live with them, and they have cared for the missionaries medically while they have been here. They also have let us take their Suburban to our Zone meetings in Dallas so we could all ride together. Sis Cooper has also been the early morning Seminary teacher and we all love her.
