Sherman has a big shake up! June, 2009

We have enjoyed our time in Sherman so very much. We were blessed greatly to be able to teach and baptize. The night we were transferred to Sulphur Springs, the Sisters were also assigned permanently to the Sherman First Ward because that is where they are living. The Elders that took our place were assigned to the Sherman Second Ward. The Sisters are so bummed, they just quit doing their work at all. Sister Holmer said, "What in the (bleep) does the mission President think he is doing?" They were so shocked. They literally had all of their people they were working with in the Second Ward. They had the mission leader wrapped around their finger and he ignored every one else. We just did our work and tried to ignore their "love affair." (Not literally.) But the sisters really kissed his feet.

On Sunday morning after all were notified, The Mission leader and the sisters went around like hurt little puppies. They were all pretty upset. The new Elders coming in got to take over all of the people we were teaching, (including all the Africans,)
and also all of the Sister's people they were teaching. They are so busy now they do not know what to do. We had the Elders come to the African's apartment and help us make bread and pancakes on Saturday after the baptism. We had to find a way to connect the Elders to the black people.

We told Diana and Jonathan and Stephen that the Elders loved Sports, especially basketball. They had been fascinated with the basketball hoops at the church and wanted to play. Stephen said he also played Soccer. So we told them they also loved to play Soccer. One of the Elders said, "Well, I've played a little." So they set a date to have a lesson and play sports together the next week. We've got to see that they get together.

Elder Cragun went home. He has been such a good missionary and a wonderful support for our zone. He was a good Zone leader and desired missionary success at any cost. With us gone, Elder Cragun gone, the change of assignment with the sisters, and a new Elder in Okahoma with the District leader, it changes the complexity of everything. I know this will be a trial for a while, but as they make the effort, the Lord will bless them.
