January - back in Sulphur Springs -2010

It was difficult to get ourselves going back in Sulphur Springs. Our President pretty well indicated that he was going to leave us here to help out.

I tried to post some pictures, but this computer would not bring them up. Our other computer is on the fritz, so we are now using exclusively the lap top of Lauras.
We had a Family Relations lesson planned on Wednesday night, but it was so cold, and only part members of families showed and so we cancelled it for a week. We went to our Spanish class and that was good. We are learning about conjugating verbs.

Yesterday we went out to the Iannones and watched the film of the Twelve Apostles witnessing of Christ. The spirit was very strong and we all felt it. We tried to help them identify what the feeling was that they felt. It was amazing!!! Bill is sturggling with his anger issue. We are trying to get them to become involved and are going to ask the Branch President if they can be Branch Missionaries with us. That way we could split and Elder Whiting could go with Bill and me with Michelle and show this film to the members of the branch. It is a good film to make them more aware of the importance, and of the truth of the Book of Mormon.

AFter leaving the Iannones, we stopped at Walmart to talk to Lucia, who is married to ERic. Eric is supposed to be baptized this weekend. He has been ditching us every since we set the date. She says he is not ready and does not want us to bother him. It is quite the game.

Last night we went over and caught Marina, who we are trying to get with to hear the lessons. She set an appointment with us for Sunday night. That is exciting to be able to at least get with her and talk to her about the Gospel. She is somewhat resistant because she doesn't understand a lot. But at least we will be teaching someone and not just supporting the ward.

We also stopped by to place a Book of Mormon to a fellow who wasn't home. We're not sure if it was on purpose or what. We will try again.

Friday, January 8 is today. We are going to meet with the activities director and help her plan the talent show for the end of January, visit a lady from the Branch who is in the hospital, and take a message into another member. We are trying to keep busy. Tomorrow we go to the Zone meeting in Gilmer where Dad is giving the mission plan and I am playing the Organ.
