Winchester Branch

Yesterday, Sunday we drove to Winchester, about 30 miles, to attend their meetings. We got there in time for ward correlation. It was a good way to catch up. We found they are having a court of honor with non members on Wednesday, so we made arrangement to be there.

We met Natalie Hodson in Sacrament and invited her to sit with us. We taught her husband a couple of weeks ago. She has been less active for some time. A very sweet girl who wants to come back to church and her husband is not a member. They are having marital problems, i think over this whole church thing. Anyway we made an appointment to teach her husband next week.

We also met with brother Abrams in the Richmond ward yesterday. He is going to be attending the Temple Ready class. He is such a nice guy. His wife is a devout Catholic. They are older and his health is not too good. Miracles are possible there. His wife did give permission for him to go to the temple.

We found Jim Davis, last night, in Lynn Indiana. He is a truck driver and is only home on Saturday and Sundays. He divorced his first wife after being sealed in the Temple, and married his second wife who was not a member, but passed away after seventeen years of marriage, last year. He is pretty lost. We ask if we could come and study the Gospel with him and he agreed. We told him our purpose was to bring him back to church. He still agreed and I think seemed happy about that.

I am grateful to be able to make a difference in people's lives here in Indiana. We so take all of our blessings for granted. We are so very blessed when we keep the commandments and do the things the Lord wants us to do. These people have no promises because they don't feel the importance of keeping the commandments and attending their meetings.
