Oh Boy, today has been a bunch of ups and downs. This morning we took Holly to Waxahachie for her Baptismal interview. She is a fun girl. She just talked and talked and talked about anything and everything. She seems to be looking forward to this baptism very much. We turned her program over to the Z's and they are taking care of all of it, even the Primary who is suppose to sing a song. Elder Laforce interviewed her and they got along great.

When they got through I told Elder LaForce that he need to hang up his shirts right out of the dryer. (He had taken his coat off and his shirt was a real mess!) So then he told me he had ironed the front of it. These Elders are so funny, we love them. Elder Whiting especially loves to tease them about anything he can get away with.

Today I have been trying to prepare a Relief Society lesson on Obedience. So I have asked many women who have been somewhat less active to help me give the lesson. The phone has been ringing all afternoon. So far I have had two of them drop out who had originally said, Yes. One Spanish lady called me the other night and told me she would be out of town, so I said, "okay." Then she called me back tonight and said that she wasn't prepared. And then she said, "well, I'd better tell you the truth. I have a rash that I'm just not comfortable with." I guess she thought if the first excuse didn't work, the next two might. I'm still pretty confused about whether she is actually coming or now. Ha! Ha! It is pretty funny.

One of the other sisters called and said, she didn't feel comfortable doing it. She didn't want to tell me why, but wondered if she could make an appointment to come and talk with us a few things that she has questions about on Monday morning. You never know what you are going to get down here. This one sounds a little more serious.

I like the rash excuse. I'm going to have to try that and see if it will get me out of some of my church obligations! ;)

I agree, alysa. I'm trying that rash excuse the next time I'm asked to speak in church. :)

I thought it was pretty good too. She should have used it the first time!! She is sweet though, but being spanish, doesn't completely understand our culture.

If you use the rash excuse do you have to tell people where the rash is? Or do you just say rash and hope that they understand that it's in an unmentionable spot? :)

How wonderful that you are working with so many different kinds of people. Some who are stronger in their faith and others who are struggling, and others who are in the middle and others who wonder if they have any, etc... What an opportunity to be an example, a friend and a teacher. :)
