We had a great day today! Elder Whiting and I arose and made a batch of five loaves of bread. We wanted to have a loaf to take to Bob and Millie's house when we went up there by eleven. Elder Whiting ground the grain while I started the yeast and warm water. We had it almost ready by 11 a.m., we were 15 minutes late. But Millie and Bob were happy to have the bread. We talked about the Priesthood with them and Bob had many, many questions. We love them so much and love spending time with them. Bob is just so ready for the Gospel. He will receive the Priesthood next Sunday. We are excited for him. We left with their four dogs racing with us. By the time we got about a block down the road, we lost all but one big brown dog. He lasted about two blocks and then dropped out too. Bob always sends them down the road chasing us.
Tonight we went to the Donahoes and talked to them about their family missionary plan. They live in a lovely, old home. It has big pillars and a porch on the front of a two story home. They are both converts to the church, I think. Nice people. She is a nurse in a local doctors office. They set some good goals, and we told them we would help in any way that we can. They said they would call us to go caroling with them.
The big news is that we went to Walmart shopping for groceries afterwards and we saw our Hollie girl!!! She has had to work the last two Sundays and we have missed her. We gave her a big hug and told her all of the things going on in the branch. We are going to pick her up for the Thanksgiving dinner and make sure she is involved in the Michael McLean Carol thing and also the Ward Talent Show in January. We are thinking about asking Bob and Millie to take care of her if we are transferred. She just sees us and her eyes light up because she knows we love her and care about her. We are always thinking of ways to get her involved in everything we can. She could easily get lost. We think this branch is moving forward, but don't know what to do.

Where's Hollie's husband? You know, if he was making an effort to come to church it would go a long ways toward helping Hollie come out. Why doesn't the elders quorum make an effort with him?
And does Hollie have a calling? What about her husband? Make him the Young Men president or something. :)
Such good questions. We have asked the same questions several times to the Branch Presidency. We don't have an Elders Quorum just a priesthood leader who is over everyone. We have begged for a calling for both of them. We are still waiting. Hopefuly soon.
We really enjoyed reading your blog tonight! What bread recipe do you make your investigators? Is it that one from the church? Just curious...
It is in the family cookbook. It is the harvest house recipe with potato flakes in it. Megan gave it to me.
