Monday, Dec. 7th

I will just make a quick post this morning. Our day at church yesterday was long and enjoyable. By the time we attended two complete set of meetings, my posterior was very tired!! But it was a great day. We met a lot of people and heard a lot of testimonies. Got some referrals, put some names with faces, and helped to give a lesson to Blake who is going to baptized on Dec. 21. Blake is a 19 yr old who has a girl friend whom he works with that lives in the ward. It has been fun teaching him because she has worked well with him. Elders Kelly and Cragun are the Spanish Elders here and they have mostly worked with him.

The wards here are very different from each other. In the 2nd Ward they were so friendly and kind. They introduced us and made a big fuss over having us. The 1st ward was a little more cold, but they have a lot of people interested in the Gospel. It will be fun to work with both wards.

Last night we went to the home of the Coopers to watch the First Presidency Broadcast. He is a Dr. of some kind and has this huge home up in the ritzy part of town. They are fellowshipping a less active whom they are trying to get her children baptized. She was suppose to come also, but she didn't. It is fun to let the members do the work! Anyway this home was something else. I would not want to have it and all the work to go with it. It was fancy Schmanzy!! But they were really nice to use and we were comfortable. They invited us back for Christmas. We told them we would see what our schedule was.

Today we are going to the Couple's conference in Dallas at the Mission Home. After our meeting we are going out to a nice restaurant and then to the Marriott. In the mission we are going to the Temple, then lunch together and come home. It will be fun to see the rest of the couples.

This place is so different than Corsicana! It has stores and normal people. On Saturday we found Sam's club and got a one day pass and shopped. We are excited to be here in Sherman. It will be a challenge to keep up with all the work. BUt we will love it, especially as we get to know the members we are serving. We hope they will embrace us the same way the people in Corsicana did.

I'm sure Heavenly Father knows you are up for the challenge. I'm sure it's nice being in an area where you are closer to stores and such.

Sounds like you will have many more opportunities to serve the people and get to know even more of them. I'm sure they will embrace you as the last area did. We love you and miss you. :^>

How is your back doing?

The people will love you just the same as those in Corsicana. They are very lucky!
