A fun and productive week!

Elder Whiting baptized Alan yesterday morning. Diana, his sister came to the baptism and met everyone. I introduced her to the Bishop and told him she was going to only be here two weeks but wanted to have the missionary lessons and be baptized while she was here. He said that we should go ahead and baptize her here and forward her records to her ward in Dallas.

It was a beautiful baptism, I felt the spirit to be very strong. Bro Stradling gave the baptism talk and Brother Robbins gave the Holy Ghost talk. Members of the ward sang the Baptism Song from the children's song book. Alan said he was a little nervous, but he looked so handsome all dressed in white with his black skin. He is African and from Gabone. (I don't know how to spell it.) There were many ward members there supporting us and Alan.

Ashley Franklin was baptized last evening in the singles ward in Allen. We ask the sisters if they would teach her and they have been working with her for some time. She needed the interaction only they could give to her. They have had to resolve many concerns that she has had. But the biggest need they fulfilled for her was hooking her up to the singles ward. They have fellowshipped her and involved her in their activities and it has been most uplifting for her. Christy and Boyd are delighted for her.

Alan was confirmed a member of the church today in the Second Ward. He and Diana were a little late today because they were moving their apartment, but made it just about in time for the confirmation. They came in their levis and casual clothes but they looked nice and the spirit was very strong. I was very proud for them and the choice they are making to become involved in our church. The members of the ward were so very welcoming. Manay came and hugged them and thanked us for helping them. We are going to meet with both of them tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. to help Alan understand what he needs to do to get the Priesthood in New York, and begin teaching Diana. It is our preparation day, but this needs to happen.

We had Mark for linner today! We cooked a chicken and made a quick potato. He always loves coming, but needed to get home and get some sleep before he goes to work tonight.
