Is it Wed. already?

I just can't believe how fast time flies when you're doing things that you love. We are just so amazed at how the Lord handles things for us and prepares people. We are actually watching him perform miracles for us. We just shake our heads and feel so grateful to him. We know it is him because we are not capable of making the things happen that he has for us.

Today we drove out to the Cornells house. We love to go there and we have a good friendship with them. They seem to enjoy hearing the Gospel and the principles that they are learning. Today Elder Whiting was quite nervous because he was giving the lesson on Who the God of the Old Testament is. Of course we know it is Jesus Christ, but the Jewish people don't believe that, so he was concerned that about how it would fly with Bob. No worry, Elder Whiting did a good job and Bob just acted like, "so, what else is new?" He just accepted the whole thing.

We also taught the Cornells the Word of Wisdom today. They both told us they had been drinking coffee. She said that she had quit and he said that Coffee was beginning to have a bad taste for him! We laughed and laughed at that. But Bob also said that he had cut his coffee in half knowing that this time was going to come. So we challenged them to quit all their coffee. Bob said, he would do what he could. He also told us that he had smoked and drank alcohol for several years, but had quit that. So we know that if he wants to, he will. We know the Lord will help him. We are still laughing about the bitter taste of coffee with him!!! It is neat how the Lord works.

Early this morning we went to see a Media referral. She was sitting out on her porch waiting for us and was very friendly. (She had called for a Lamb of God video.) We just had a good chat and gave her a little discussion about the church and first thing you know we are loaning a Book of Mormon to her to read. She seemed very open and we will talk more with her next Monday when we go back to see her. She seemed excited to have it and definitely meant to read a least part of it. She said that the Elders used to live over by her a few years back and she used to see them come and go. She had heard that these young kids were required to go on a mission as part of their training. We assured her that was not the case.

We also visited a sister in the ward who is the mother of the Burns Family, of whom we want to teach. We talked with her a little about Ham radio and listened quite a bit to her funny stories. She needed that. She told the last missionaries to stay away from the family so we are taking it easy. She actually encouraged us to go visit them today!! Yay!!!

Yesterday was zone conference and it was totally and absolutely wonderful!!! We had such good talks, testimonies and role plays. I just soaked it in and basked in the spirit of it all. Our new mission President is going to be wonderful. We will love him. We also had a nice luncheon made by the ladies in the Duncanville Area. We love to be around the young missionaries and their fun and enthusiastic spirits. They told us that the church is giving this mission a whole bunch of new missionaries that will exceed numbers that they have never before seen, because it is such a high baptizing mission. This will happen by January or February.

Patricia Ivers was our destination on Monday. We basically reviewed and taught her Gospel concepts that she has not understood. We will have to see what happens there. They are struggling financially and we think maybe the Lord is trying to teach them and help them come unto him. We enjoyed our visit. Patricia is very sincere and wants to do the right thing all of the time. We hope they will keep coming to church.

Elder Whiting and I have been listening to a set of CD's by a fellow from BYU. They are so good and teaching us a lot about things of the spirit that are amazing. We love to listen to them whenever we are traveling or in the car. We so far have learned that the things that we own here on the earth are not ours, they belong to the Lord. So now when we take a loaf of bread to someone or something else, we say, "here's a loaf of the Lord's bread, we hope you like it." We are having fun with this concept.
