Kimberly Isonhood

We taught Kimberly Isonhood tonight, maybe for the last time. We reviewed with her several scriptures in the Book of Mormon that were important to her understanding. We had a great discussion and the spirit was there. I think Kimreally enjoyed it. We haven't challenged her to Baptism because we knew that we were leaving before it could happen. But tonight she said that basically she planned on being baptized.

After Elder Whiting and I had born our testimonies of the Book of mormon, she asked Jay if he would bear his. That was a twist of event. Jay has a very sincere and sweet testimony of the Gospel. Up until now Kimberly has held back on any kind of commitment towards the church, but tonight there was not any holdback!! We were excited as we drove home and talked about it. Kimberly promised that she would email us and let us know when it would be happening. That was fun for us. We know it is not too far in the near future!

In other news Marina has started to hold off on her baptism and we have decided to just leave her for the branch to work on fellowshipping and baptizing her. She and her mom are having major relationship problems that are taking away from the opportunity we have to teach her. Her mother is severely depressed and Marina just cannot deal with it all the time. I don't blame her. Her mother, Kristine, called me today and was talking to me and sobbing on the telephone about how things were. She just does not understand that her depression is causing Marina to turn away from the Gospel. She is constantly nagging her about everything and critisizing everything she does. It is not comfortable to be in the home with Kristine.

Marina is another story and she is very sincere and sweet. She had already committed to baptism and then her mother took over and just started causing problems and now it is a mess. Oh well, we leave in 11 days. We have had the opportunity to introduce many people to the Gospel whether they were baptized or not.

We have found that our purpose in being here in Sulphur Springs is to add our spirit and dimension to the Branch. It is desperately in need of love and good will. It is not fun to hear negative things about others when they are doing the best that they can. We will need to pray for them and just love them. Hopefully they will remember the spirit that was here with us. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served where Heavenly Father wants us to serve.

We don't have a lot going the last week of our stay here, so we will be packing and finishing things us. On Saturday we are going to Sherman to say goodbye to the people we have loved there. We are having lunch with Mark, Dinner with Christy and Boyd Franklin and Ashley. In between we are going to visit Diana, from Africa, and Jeannie Vie and Monica and Cliff. It will be a treat for us as we left our heart there when we left.
